About Me
I have 20 years of experience writing, and editing for businesses, corporations, non-profits, academia, and authors. As a creative writer myself, I have a passion for helping my clients express themselves—whether you’re a CEO writing a column, an academic wrapping up a dissertation, or an author putting the finishing (or not-so-finishing) touch on a novel, memoir, or book proposal.
A quick history
- I began my career in public relations, and I’m well versed in helping clients speak to their particular audience.
- After working as a PR account executive for five years, I became my firm’s staff editor, reviewing 35 staff members’ written materials and coaching team members to hone their writing and editing skills, a role I later returned to on a contract basis.
- In 1998, I accepted a tasty job in marketing at The French Culinary Institute in New York City, where I worked with well-known chefs such as Jacques Pépin and enjoyed the city’s culinary landscape (and the nation’s largest media market).
- I returned launched my consulting business, Currant Communications Inc., in 1999. Since then, I’ve worked with more than 100 clients—some of them for 10 years or more.
